Our Story
We met in 2022, back when COVID was still a thing. Matching on a dating app set the precedence for treating our date as a “trial by meeting” setup. Giving me a heads-up that she’s planning to go back to Canada to complete her studies sealed the thought and mutual understanding that this may not turn into a strong relationship.
We spent an entire evening together keeping aside the thought that we may never see each other again. After the longest time, I finally found the person I was looking for. My ideologies, my interests, my expectations, standing right there in front of me beautifully wrapped in a black saree looking like she was meant for me and I was meant for her.
As much as I liked her, I kept myself from opening up and letting her in to my mind, heart and soul. She kept in touch, remembering every little detail of our time together, understanding that I may not reciprocate. For a few months we kept in touch and before long the fire slowly died out as expected.
Three years later, I hadn’t found another like her till one day, while swiping disinterestedly, through all the dating apps, I notice a familiar face in all her glory. I hit the like button and said, “Hello again!”. This “by-chance” meeting was the one I looked forward to. This time whether she was planning to live in Canada or come back to India was the least of my concerns. Knowing that she isn’t married or hadn’t found another was what put a smile on my face. We decided to meet and once we did, nothing could stop us from being together now and finally, forever. The rest is a history in the making…
